Welcome to 2nd Grade

Aside from the all the subjects listed below, we take time for the following field trips: Fall Fun at Merrymead Farms, Valley Forge National Historical Park, Philadelphia Zoo, and Sellersville Post Office.

What will my child learn?

Bible

Study the life of Moses through the book of Exodus.
Study the promises of God as the Israelites and their leader see both victory and tribulation as they learn to trust God.
Memorize Ephesians 6:11-20, Psalms 119: 9-16, and 1 John 4:7-14.

Beginners Spanish
- We learn the colors, days of the week, months of the year, animals, greetings, transportation, and household objects.
Dinero for the Dominican Republic
- The second grade class at Faith Christian Academy raises money each month to send to a school in the Dominican Republic. The school, located in La Yaguita, Dominican Republic is a very poor school. The money the second grade class raises goes toward teaching supplies, food, and even tuition for the students in the Dominican Republic. It is an awesome way for the students to show God’s love towards those in need. In January the entire elementary joins in to help raise money. The students have raised over $2,000 for the Dominican Republic.
Promethean Smartboard
- In the second grade we are very blessed to have a Promethean Smartboard. This interactive whiteboard allows learning to become extremely visual. Through teaching videos, interactive games, and flipchart lesson plans, the students are no longer sitting through a lecture. They are now taking part in the entire lesson. The students also use hand held Activotes to help reinforce the lesson. The students are able to type in their answer without fear of embarrassment.
