Canaan (6th-12th)
Science Department

The Science Department at Faith Christian Academy integrates faith and science into the curriculum of each course. We teach that God is the Creator and Designer of the universe, and Christian faith is the framework in which scientific concepts and the natural world can be understood. Each student has the opportunity to see the handiwork of God in the structure and function of natural processes, and the accuracy of God‘s Word in relation to principles of science and laws of nature. By graduation, the students should have a strong understanding of scientific concepts with a biblical worldview and be able to apply these concepts to being good stewards of the world that God created.

Math Department
At Faith Christian Academy, our goal is to equip students to be problem solvers for the glory of God. We believe all students can take their math skills to the next level with rigorous curriculum taught by experienced and supportive staff. In addition to our core curriculum from Prealgebra to Precalculus, we offer advanced courses (AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics) as well as electives like Accounting and Statistics. We are confident we can meet students where they are and boost their confidence in math!

History Department

The History Department at Faith Christian Academy is committed to fostering a Biblical worldview in students by exploring historical events and examining contemporary global issues. Our curriculum is primarily based on the Bob Jones University Press materials, with exceptions for 7th Grade Geography, AP U.S. History, and select elective courses. The AP U.S. History course utilizes The American Pageant, an AP College Board–approved textbook, while the 7th Grade Geography curriculum is teacher-developed, incorporating a range of reputable resources. We employ a variety of instructional strategies and assessments to support diverse learning styles and levels.
These include cooperative learning, project-based assessments, presentations, simulations, and traditional teaching methods. Each history teacher is dedicated to creating a positive and structured learning environment through clearly defined expectations and meaningful connections with students. These relationships not only enhance academic engagement but also encourage students to seek spiritual guidance and ask faith-related questions.

Bible Department
The Bible Department exists to train our students in the knowledge of the Bible, help them understand what it means to have a Biblical worldview, and help them know what they believe and why. We want our students to become critical thinkers when it comes to evaluating the culture and its beliefs. We accomplish these goals by offering various classes that range from studying books of the Bible, apologetics, theology, and discipleship. Students are required to take a Bible course for each semester they attend FCA. Some of the classes are Ethics, Apologetics, Bible Overview, and Comparative Religions. Our ultimate goal in the Bible Department is to educate our students in the knowledge and understanding of the Bible and the implications it has for their personal lives.
