Fine Arts

Faith Christian Academy emphasizes the arts by teaching music and art classes. Our art room is furnished to provide a creative setting for the class. The music classes involve instruction and class participation. Choir, handbells, drama, and speech enable the students to be involved in the arts.

Several evenings each year are set aside for special programs, music concerts, art exhibits, and the Academic Fair. Student involvement is encouraged. FCA tries to provide opportunities for students to use the talents God has given them in all areas of life.

Music Theory Elective

The students will learn the rules of writing music and how the chords fit together to create a song.
The students will learn to analyze written music
The students will create their own music following the rules of part writing.

Band Grades 7 – 12 Elective

The students will experience playing as a group while balancing their part with the entire band.
The students will play varying styles of music from all historical periods.
The students will learn to play with proper dynamics and articulation.

High School Choir Grades 9-12 Elective

The students will learn proper breath support, posture, dynamics and enunciation.
The students will experience singing as a group as well as singing their separate parts with the choir.
The students will learn to sing in different languages and styles from all musical periods.

Middle School Choir Grades 7 – 8 Mandatory

Middle School Hand Bells Grades 7 - 8 Elective

The students will learn proper ringing technique.
The students will experience ringing and counting in a group so as to play their bells at the proper time with in the whole.
The students will learn to play with proper dynamics.

High School Hand Bells Grades 9 – 12 Elective
